There are some important basic information that a stock trader should know. The company that has issued the stocks has much to gain and lose. Its part in the market and potential shares are usually divided into the following.

Blue Chips: These are shares of large companies with an extended history of profit growth. Annual return is usually over 4 billion dollars. There is large capitalization and pay-off of dividends is constant.

Growth Stocks: These are shares of a company that experiences fast growth. It is not unusual for the company to pursue the policy of reinvestment of revenue. This is done for the company’s further development and modernization. Companies that issue growth stocks rarely pay dividends. When they do, the dividends are small.

Income Stocks: These are the stocks of companies with high and stable earnings that pay high dividends. Mutual funds are used for shares of such companies in the plans for people who are middle-aged or elderly.

Defensive Stocks: Defensive stocks are those whose prices stay stable when the market declines. They do well during recessions and offer minimal risks for the investor. Consequently, they are excellent performers when the stock market downturns. They are also in requisition during economic boom.
